There are days of complex emotions, sadness intertwined with emptiness, despair comes with hope, divinity with carnal sins. Michael Nguyen, with his sensitive touch, blended these feelings together in these otherworldly images

The works by Michael Nguyen are not mass-produced or commercial goods. They are original Artworks. All works in the online shop are produced in a noble limited edition of only five copies, signed on the back and provided with a signature stamp. Each picture in the shop is unique and exclusive: they cannot be found elsewhere. Moreover the form and the medium such as frame, printing & finishing technique are carefully selected by the artist not only to match the visual but also to convey the message of each photo. All are developed and/or printed of the highest quality by local production houses.

On the streets, in the museum, on the river banks, in the woods, underground. We meet them everywhere. We don’t talk to them, we just watch them doing whatever they are doing. We don’t ask ourselves what they are thinking or what their lives are like. We just like those moments and capture these. Because we want them in our memories. And maybe those people are not strangers. Maybe we know them in other lives. The woman in front of the new-stand could be our mother. The homeless man could be our husband. The girls in the lunch break could be our sisters. Maybe someday we know them again in this life or the life after. But right now we miss them.

At his core, Michael Nguyen is an artist, not a photographer but more a photographic poet or something he himself could not define. He moves away from the mainstream, at the same time blurs genres. Most of the time, he focuses on small, ordinary things but through the subjective lens, give them new perspectives, a new soul. Michael Nguyen’s photography is the art of showing more than you can see. Making visible – worshipping the invisible, he walks with the third eye of a wanderer through the visual adventure of life.
